Some machinestitching...

...on the blue and orange felted piece done. Will start adding beads and other "stuff" now.

Working on this piece I now am sure I need another darning foot for my Janome. The quilting foot that comes with the machine is open and it is almost impossible to work on the fluffy felt. I taped the open space with some "tesa", which is better than the open space, but not perfect. There is a metall foot for a Juki machine that fits the Janome 6600. It only has to be bent a bit. It isn´t available in Germany, so I will order one from the US. Hope it will arrive soooooon!
And I think about getting a "Big Foot". It might work even better with felted pieces, as it has a large plastic "plate" instead of a small metal ring. I only found it at a UK online shop here in Europe, so maybe I´ll order that one, too. Not sure yet. Any experiences with the "Big Foot" anyone?

Oh, added some more Links to other blogs. It is amazing how many wonderful artists are blogging already. I found the blogs of some great beading artists. So much inspiration.....

Stitching with Schnauzer and Siamese said...

If you are having trouble with the fluffy felt, You may like to try covering the fluffy felt with a thin water soluable fabric, its great to stitch over, you will not need a foot at all.( just remember to drop the feed dog)and you can FME to your hearts content. When you have finished the stitching, just spray with water until it has disappeared, or you can dunk it in a bowel of water, towel dry and then dry flat. Works for me!

Have fun
