BJP January finished

Today I finished my January piece for the Bead Journal Project
It is a needlefelted base covered partially with seed beads and measures 15cm x 15cm (inside the green stitched line). As I haven´t decided yet how to finish all pieces by the end of the year it will stay like that for now. I thought about making a book of all 12 pieces but think it would be way too bulky. So I now think about making 6 cushions out of the 12 pieces. But there is still lots of time to think about that.

Those hap-hazard clusters of beads nestled into the base are absolutely lovely. It looks a bit landscap-ish to me -- just my interpretation. It's beautiful!

Beautiful work, Karin!!! The beads both compliment and contrast with the softness of the felt... Very pleasing to see, especially when I clicked to enlarge! I love that you scattered a few slightly larger yellow beads among the smaller ones. What were you feeling as you worked???

Thanks to you all for the lovely comments! It´s been so much fun to work with these fresh colours here in cold germany.
Robin, working like this always feels good to me, but has it´s difficult moments. Especially when I have to decide to stop. Should I add more beads or not? I think I tried to stop 3 or 4 times and added bead after bead after bead.

I will be interested to see how you finish this piece. The felted background wit the beads added remind me of pink clouds. You know the kind of clouds that almost fill a summer sky in different layers and you keep looking at them to see what image you will find as them move along and change shapes.

I really like this effect. Now I am going to look at your previous blog posts to see what other interesting thing you have shown us.
