Wristband take 2

Terri asked me how I did the closure on the wristband. Well to be honest, when I took the photo yesterday, it was a safety pin that held it together. But now I added a tiny opalescent button.
And as the photo really wasn´t a good one and didn´t show what I like best I did a scan and that is much better.
In the detail you can see quite well how the handstitching is still visible and how the thick thread almost pops out of the machine stitching. Almost 3D like.
I think I first saw this combination of hand- and machinestitching in a book by Beaney and Littlejohn. And I really like the effect you can achieve very easy and quick.

Oh, wow - so glad you posted the close up. It's a really nice piece from the first photo but that close up really shows off the wonderful texture.

What a wonderful bracelet. The textures of the hand and machine stitching really pop out, and I love the colours.

Hey thanks for sharing the closure with us. I think I have that book you refer to and I love the effect the stitching give when it's very condensed and on top of each other.

This is lovely! I like the colours and the nice texture. I think the way to use both hand- and machine at embroidery is very ggod!
